Improve DAB reception at your home
DAB offers a whole new radio experience.
DAB offers consistently good sound quality, more stations and additional information than FM. DAB also offers more reception areas and greater flexibility.
How to improve reception at home:
- Better reception: Reposition the antenna or your device, e.g. near a window.
- Reduce or avoid interference from other electrical devices:
Almost every electrical device generates some interference. Compliant devices generate only a small amount, while non-compliant (illegal *) devices can even interfere with the entire environment (DAB, but also medical services, police, fire brigade, etc.). Keep the antenna away from potential sources of interference such as mains and charging devices, LED lamps and LED power supplies, screens, PCs, etc.
To find a source of interference, unplug any suspicious devices and see if the interference decreases or disappears completely.
Tip: If you double the distance between the antenna and the source of interference, the interference is reduced by a factor of 2. If you triple the distance, it is reduced by a factor of 9.
The interference decreases quadratically, which is why you can achieve a lot by increasing the distance or avoiding interference.
In summary: If the reception signal is too weak and the interference is too strong, reception will no longer work.

Recommendation: Because reception is best outdoors and there is the least interference there, we recommend the „window sill antenna“.
This means that DAB reception is usually problem-free even when the blinds are down and in bad weather. You can also receive more stations than indoors.
